Multiple coaching opportunities and the Steven Burke closed road facility are the backbone of the team and rider development pathways
They are at the core of all that we do. Our relationships with Burnley College (Elite Young Athlete Programme), Holmes Cycling and MT3 lifts rider development to levels that are normally out of reach to young and up-coming riders. We also have an Olympic champion to call upon to support us and endorse our Centre of Excellence vision of coaching.
Our aim is to give team riders the tools to progress from Youth (U16) to Junior (16-18) and onwards to Senior (U23); equipping them with the tools, knowledge of modern training techniques and drills, which equals motivated riders working at being the best they can be.
Having the Steven Burke 1.1 KM closed road circuit at our disposal is key. It is here we can facilitate year round coaching, training sessions and drills, going indoor if necessary during winter months. The club room is also the ideal base for our training camps over several weekends in the off season. We have changing room and shower facilities, internet connection, big screen TV and catering facilities.
We are supported by MT3 during the winter, with structured strength and conditioning sessions and state of the art equipment. It’s here the riders work on core stability, strength and conditioning and flexibility/stretching.
Burnley College Test Lab
Our relationship with the college supports testing and data analysis, sports nutrition, sports psychology and long term athlete development (LTAD).

Adam Blackely – Lecturer, Burnley sports college. Previously worked within British Cycling coaching and education department. Always handy on the bike but biggest claim to fame is he lives next door to G! Adam runs all the testing in the lab and much much more.
